A unique blogger who aged eight times faster than normal has died

At the age of 19, the life of Beandra Buysen, a unique TikTok blogger who shared motivational videos with her subscribers, was cut short. The girl passed away on December 18 due to an incurable genetic disease called progeria, which caused her body to age eight times faster than it should.

The tragic news was reported by the Internet activist's mother on her Facebook page. The woman noted that, despite the disease, her daughter was always joyful and full of hope for the best.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Beandry Buyssen, one of South Africa's most beloved and inspiring young women. Beandri was known not only for her vibrant personality and infectious laugh but also as the last living person in South Africa to suffer from progeria, a rare genetic disorder that causes children to age prematurely. Despite the difficulties she faced, Beandri radiated hope and joy. She has become a symbol of awareness of progeria and other special needs, using her unique spirit to inspire thousands of people around the world," the blogger's mother wrote.

She also asked the audience to leave her family alone for a while. It is very difficult for them to come to terms with the loss, so the girl's relatives will announce all the details of the funeral later.

According to the Daily Mail, at 19 years old, Beandra Buysen weighed only 12 kilograms. Shortly before the tragic day, the blogger had undergone heart surgery. She was recovering quickly and was confident that she would be able to spend Christmas with her family.

Beandri Buysen had a fairly large audience on TikTok. The number of her subscribers is over 279 thousand.

"I have a lot of activity on TikTok because I try to inspire and motivate those who follow me and keep them in a positive mood every day. My goal is to raise awareness of other people with special needs and show that everyone is different and unique in their own right, and to give them strength if I can," she said about her blog.
