A 6.5-meter-high statue in honor of Shakira was unveiled in the hometown of Colombian singer, Barranquilla. The sculpture depicts Shakira with her famous hip movements, and below it is an information plaque on which attentive readers noticed an error.

The people who created the plaque did not decide how to spell the artist's name correctly, so you can see two different versions. Shakira shared photos from the statue's unveiling ceremony on Instagram, where followers were very confused as to why the sculptor was first listed as Yino Márques and then as Yino Márquez (to see the photos, scroll down to the bottom of the news).

One Instagram user commented, "Can someone please explain whether the artist's name is S or Z? This mistake really annoys me. I appreciate the efforts, but it's very humiliating." He never received a response from the singer. Instead, she published another post with a video of the statue's unveiling with the caption "I am very excited about this tribute to a Colombian woman and Barranquillera inside and outside of it!"

Later, after the video of the unveiling was published on the page of the mayor Jaime Pumarejo, it became known that the sculptor was Yiro Márquez.

At the ceremony, Shakira was represented by her parents. They unveiled a sculpture that serves as a symbol of pride in the singer and her contribution. Shakira's brothers were also present at the event. The statue personifies the singer's iconic belly dance, which symbolizes sea and river waves, and the arms raised and held vertically represent success. The 6-ton sculpture was created by artist Yiro Márquez in the La Paz district with the support of students and graduates of the District School of Art.
