Esperance Luminesca Fuerzina, a 36-year-old US Army veteran, has become a Guinness World Record holder three times, having received the title of the most tattooed woman with the most modifications, as 99.98% of her body is covered with ink. According to the American woman, her body is a moving canvas that reflects "the transformation of darkness into beauty."
The woman's tattoos are located on her tongue, gums, eyeballs, and even genitals. "I think it's obvious that I'm not trying to follow traditional standards of beauty, and that can be both liberating and something that a lot of people don't understand and can be negative about," Esperance said in a conversation with representatives of the Guinness Book of Records.
The American woman's body is almost 100% covered with tattoos.

But the record holder didn't stop at tattoos. She also boasts 89 modifications, including 15 subcutaneous implants, a split tongue, nipple removal, and 18 genital piercings. Her lack of fear of intensive changes in the most delicate parts of her body helped Esperance beat her record-breaking predecessors.
The woman was listed in the Guinness Book of Records three times.

The veteran narrowly beat the previous most tattooed woman, Charlotte Guttenberg, whose body was covered by 98.7%. Despite this, the American easily broke the record for body modification. The previous record of 40 tattoos had stood unbroken since 2012.
Esperance has made 89 body modifications.

Esperance's love affair with ink began at the age of 21 when she got her first tattoo: a symbol on her thigh related to a former lover, which she soon covered up. She moved on to body modification only a few years later, starting with a split tongue. She says she mostly creates her own designs but often lets her trusted tattoo artists unleash their creative energy by using her body as a canvas for drawing.
The woman first got a tattoo when she was 21 years old.
