South Korean intelligence has identified a rocket engineer from the DPRK who helped Russia launch ballistic missiles at Ukraine. He was spotted at a position of the Russian occupiers near the Donetsk region.
This was reported by NHK World Japan, showing several photos. The name of this citizen was not given, but it is said that he was previously seen among the subordinates of the North Korean dictator.
South Korean intelligence announced the discovery of the North Korean missile launcher on October 18. Experts analyzed his photo in the company of a presumed Russian officer.
The location where the image was taken is believed to be a Russian military launch site for North Korean-made ballistic missiles, located near the Donetsk region of Ukraine.
According to South Korean intelligence, this missile launcher may be the same DPRK military officer who accompanied North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un during an inspection of a munitions plant in 2023.
"Facial recognition technology allows us to say with a probability of more than 80% that the person in the photo is the engineer who accompanied Kim last August," the report says.
On October 10, Western media reported the presence of a North Korean contingent in the calculations of the Russian Federation's KN-23 tactical missile systems. A video confirming the presence of DPRK troops in Russia was also posted online. The aggressor has deployed North Korean forces at four training grounds in the Far East, where they are being trained before being sent to the front.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that almost 11,000 DPRK infantrymen are training in eastern Russia to fight against Ukraine. According to him, starting in November, they will reinforce the units of the Russian occupation army in the Kursk region and on the Ukrainian front.
