Russia threatens Britain with strikes on its military targets "in Ukraine and beyond": what's happening
Russia threatened Britain with strikes on its territory

On Monday, May 6, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned British Ambassador Nigel Casey. After that, threats against London erupted in the swamps because of the permission given to Ukraine to strike Russian territory with British weapons.

This is stated in a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Lavrov's ministry accused Britain of escalating the war in Ukraine.

Thus, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the UK has become a party to the "conflict" in Ukraine, recognizing Kyiv's right to use British weapons against Russia, which is "evidence of a serious escalation."

"Nigel Casey has been warned that any military facilities and equipment of the United Kingdom on the territory of Ukraine and abroad could be a response to Ukrainian strikes using British weapons on the territory of Russia," the Russian ministry emphasized.

This was the reaction of the "zaporubryk" to an interview with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron to Reuters during his visit to Kyiv last week. In his comments, Cameron noted that Ukraine has the right to use British weapons to attack Russian targets, just as Russia uses weapons from Iran and North Korea to attack Ukraine.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported on Cameron's statement that Britain does not mind Ukraine using British weapons to attack Russia. Also, during his visit to Ukraine, he promised about $3.74 billion in annual military aid to Kyiv – "as long as it takes".

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the Russian leadership was outraged by the fact that Britain believed that strikes on Russian territory with British weapons were possible. Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov made a statement on the matter.
