Number of Russian ships in Sevastopol bays decreases, - OSINT analyst

Russian ships continue to disappear from Sevastopol bays

The ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet continue to disappear from the bays of the temporarily occupied Sevastopol. According to the latest satellite images, the Russian submarine Alrosa, which entered the bay of the occupied city last week, is no longer in Sevastopol.

However, several ships of the Black Sea Fleet are still being detected by satellites. Details and images were published by OSINT analyst MT Anderson.

"The photo is from January 15, 2024. Each time you can see less and less (ships - Ed.). The pier looks empty after the Alrosa submarine of the 877B project called here last week (but there is no 100 percent certainty due to cloud cover)," he said, posting the photo.

The analyst noted that the frigate pier also looks rather empty. The picture shows the Project 12700 Alexandrit minesweeper, the Project 1135 Burevestnik patrol frigate (Krivak class according to NATO codification), and the Project 1124 Albatross corvette (Grisha class corvette).

Meanwhile, the Russian submarine Rostov-on-Don and several large amphibious assault ships of the 775 project (Ropucha class), which was hit by Ukrainian soldiers on September 13 last year, are still on dry dock in Sevastopol. Some of them, the researcher noted, are in working order, and some are not.

In the Southern Bay, the MT Anderson spotted the Russian medium-sized reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs, which was attacked by Ukrainian naval drones in the Black Sea in May 23.

Sevastopol on the map

Earlier, it was reported that the occupiers had deployed a new large amphibious assault ship to Sevastopol. OSINT researchers came to this conclusion after analyzing satellite images.

However, the Ukrainian Navy later denied the report, calling the information false. According to the Navy, the large amphibious assault ship of Project 11711 "Ivan Gren" is not in the Azov-Black Sea basin and was not there during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
