DIU tells how many crew members of "Sergei Kotov" ship were killed

As a result of the damage to the patrol ship "Sergei Kotov" of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, 7 occupants on board the vessel were irrevocably eliminated. Another 6 crew members were wounded.

This was reported in the Telegram of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. Unfortunately, the Russians managed to evacuate 52 people from the destroyed ship.

"It seems that the rescued and dazed sailors of the "Sergei Kotov" will be "sailed" by Russian special services due to the loss of the vessel," Ukrainian intelligence officers noted.

As a reminder, the "Sergei Kotov" became another victim of Ukrainian-made Magura maritime drones. It was hit on the night of March 5 off the coast of temporarily occupied Feodosia. As a result of the attack from both sides, an AK-176 artillery system exploded on the ship. In addition to the ship, an onboard Ka-29 helicopter was also destroyed.

Interestingly, the crew of the ship knew about the impending threat: according to the "Spy Dossier," maritime drones heading in its direction were detected by the occupiers at 00:15. But this did not help the invaders defend themselves.

– The DIU reported that the ship "Sergei Kotov" was attacked by five marine drones around 00.50 on March 5. Ukrainian intelligence officers released an interception of a conversation between the Russian occupiers confirming the destruction of the ship.

– MAGURA V5 maritime drones usually operate in large groups, which allows them to achieve one hundred percent success in destroying surface targets. They are capable of carrying over 300 kg of payload and terrify enemy ships in different parts of the Black Sea.
