As of October, Russia was to produce two prototypes of the "Kedr" missile: Budanov reveals details

On November 21, Russia used an experimental medium-range ballistic missile, the "Kedr," to strike Dnipro. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin called it "Oreshnik" and used the name of the research and development work on this missile.

As of October, Russia had produced only two such missiles. This was stated by Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, during the discussion "Genocidal Practices of the Russian Federation in Ukraine: From the Holodomor to the Russian-Ukrainian War" on November 22.

He explained the confusion with the name of the missile used by Russian troops to attack Dnipro.

"Yesterday, the Russian dictator frankly, openly, publicly stated that the "Oreshnik" missile was used, as he called it. "Oreshnik" is the name of a research work. This is just a code for it. The system itself is called "Kedr." It's an experimental system, let's say it's a medium-range ballistic missile. The fact that they used it in a non-nuclear version is, well... This is, as they say, a warning from them that they are not completely crazy," Budanov said.

He said that the launched experimental missile contained six warheads with submunitions. Experts are currently determining what exactly the missile was "stuffed" with.

However, the fact that these missiles are a fake product for Russia is well known in Ukraine's military intelligence without any expertise.

"The missile is experimental. We knew for sure that two prototypes were to be made by October. Perhaps we made a little more. But believe me: this is a prototype. This is not yet mass production, thank God," Budanov summarized.

As a reminder, on November 21, Russia launched missiles from Tu-95MS and an intercontinental ballistic missile at Dnipro. The combined massive attack on the city's enterprises and critical infrastructure lasted from 5 to 7 am.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops launched an intercontinental ballistic missile from Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, an X-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missile from a MiG-31K fighter jet in Tambov region, and seven X-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch area – Volgograd region).

"As a result of the anti-aircraft combat, the units of the Air Force anti-aircraft missile forces destroyed six X-101 missiles. The other missiles were destroyed without any significant consequences," the Air Force said.

The moment of the Russian attack on Dnipro with an intercontinental ballistic missile was caught on video.

According to the DIU, the missile's approach time to the Dnipro was 15 minutes.

On the evening of the attack, Putin made a statement to Russians. In particular, he said that Russia had used "one of its newest Russian medium-range ballistic missile systems with a non-nuclear hypersonic "Oreshnik" missile to strike the industrial complex in Dnipro. The dictator added that the speed of ballistic missiles ranges from 4 km/s to 7.8 km/s and that there are allegedly no means in the world to counter another Russian "analog."

Putin called the use of an intercontinental ballistic missile on a Ukrainian city "a response to the strikes by American and British weapons on Russian territory."

However, the very next day, a part from the "Oreshnik" found in Dnipro exposed the Kremlin's lies.
