In his evening address to the nation, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the Russian shelling of Kryvyi Rih and Kherson on 31 July. The head of state is confident that despite the Russian terror, "our common strength - everyone in the world who values life - is enough to overcome evil."

"We can not only defeat the terrorist state, but also ensure the triumph of justice, when all those guilty of terror are held accountable. But to do this, we need to increase our cooperation and pressure on the aggressor every day, every week, every month. And I thank everyone in the world who is doing just that!" - said the leader of Ukraine.

He said that the rescue operation in Kryvyi Rih was completed at 19:00 on Monday. In the morning, the enemy fired two Iskander ballistic missiles at the city. Preliminary, the launch point was Crimea, near the town of Dzhankoy.

The 4th to 9th floors of a residential high-rise building were destroyed. "This is terrorism, which no one in the world will call otherwise," Zelenskyy said.

"We know about six dead, among them a child, a girl, her name was Daria. She was only ten years old... Her mother died with her, her name was Natalia... An ordinary family in an ordinary city whose lives were destroyed by Russian killers. My condolences to all those who lost their loved ones..." - the President said.

69 people were injured, dozens are in hospitals, including those in serious condition.

"The rescue operation was difficult. Parts of the building structure were falling. There was a fire on the fourth floor. In total, more than 350 employees of the State Emergency Service, police and utilities were involved in the rescue. Volunteers also helped. I am grateful to everyone!" - said the guarantor.

He pointed out that the launch of missiles by the Russian Armed Forces from the occupied Crimea proves that for the safety of our cities, for the protection of the normal life of Ukrainians and our children, our military must have enough long-range weapons and means of defeating terrorists.

The world's sanctions pressure on Russia also deserves a significant increase, as the aggressor can still circumvent restrictions and obtain critical components for weapons production.

"We need to act together. Sanctions for terrorism must be significantly strengthened. Significantly restrict the channels of delivery of critical components for missile production to Russia. And to respond with determination - with determination to supply Ukraine with the necessary modern weapons, including long-range missiles, so that we can remove this terrorist threat posed by Russia," the country's leader said.

"Today, Russian inhumans shelled Kherson. They used artillery. A police officer was killed. My condolences. Nine people were injured, including a child and four volunteers of the City of Power NGO," Zelensky added.

He thanked everyone who supports us and everyone who "defends freedom and humanity together with Ukraine".

"And, of course, our soldiers. Bakhmut. The whole of Donbas, Orikhiv and all our southern positions, the border, and everyone who keeps the peace of the regions of our country.
