Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to Tbilisi's scandalous statements on Ukraine: "the Georgian authorities are looking for an enemy in the wrong place"

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to Tbilisi's scandalous statements on Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has responded to the scandalous statements made by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili against representatives of the Ukrainian government. The Ministry emphasized that the head of the Georgian government almost verbatim repeats the messages of Russian propaganda.

At the same time, Garibashvili's accusations that "Ukraine is preparing a coup d'etat in Georgia" have nothing to do with reality. Oleh Nikolenko, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stated on it on Facebook.

According to him, in recent days, representatives of the Georgian government and parliament have made a number of unfriendly statements against Ukraine. Nikolenko stated that Georgian politicians were almost verbatim repeating the theses of the Russian aggressor country's propaganda, accusing Ukraine of preparing a coup d'état in Georgia and dragging it into a war with Russia.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Ukraine categorically rejects such insinuations, which have nothing to do with reality. Addressing the Georgian government, Nikolenko also said they were looking for the enemy in the wrong place.

"We are confident that the statements of Georgian politicians will not be able to shake the strong relations of friendship between the Ukrainian and Georgian peoples. We highly appreciate the support of Georgians at a time when Ukrainians are fighting for their independence. For its part, Ukraine has been and will remain a friend of the Georgian people, to whom we wish not to stop in the development of the European future," Nikolenko said.

Recall, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, spoke negatively about Volodymyr Zelenskyy's comments on the protests in Georgia. He called on the President of Ukraine and other politicians to "look at their own country and then interfere in the political life of Georgia."

Earlier, Garibashvili also accused the Ukrainian authorities of allegedly wanting to open a "second front" in his country.
