President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the aggressor country of Russia must answer for its terror against Ukraine before the court and history, and is already answering before the strength of Ukrainian soldiers. Zelensky made the statement on Sunday, August 18, on his official Telegram channel. He also posted a video of the consequences of the recent Russian strikes.

"Russia always knows where it is hitting with its missiles and bombs, and this is deliberate and purposeful Russian terror," the president wrote.

Zelensky added that more than 40 missiles of various types, 750 KABs and 200 attack drones of various types were used by Russian troops against Ukrainian cities and villages this week.

"And the occupier must answer for such terror before the court and history, and is already answering before the power of our soldiers. All those Ukrainians who are bringing justice, who are destroying the occupier and defending our positions. They are defending us in the way necessary to preserve Ukrainian independence and achieve our goals," the Head of State said.

He also thanked "each and every one who supports and saves lives": rescuers, doctors, utilities and volunteers.

"Thank you to everyone who helps our people overcome the consequences of terror," the post reads.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on the night of August 18, Russian troops attacked with Shaheds, and in the morning they attacked Kyiv region twice with missiles. First, the enemy launched ballistic missiles, and then cruise missiles - the enemy targets were shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces.

The falling wreckage of the downed targets caused destruction and damage to private houses in one of the communities in Kyiv region.

Since nightfall, Ukrainian air defense forces have destroyed all eight UAVs, two ballistic and three cruise missiles.
