The fighting is extremely fierce: Syrskyi visits Pokrovsk sector

Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi came from the Pokrovsk direction and told us about what was happening there. He spent several days working with the brigades that are defending the most difficult area.

Oleksandr Syrskyi spoke about the situation in the Pokrovsk sector on his Telegram channel. He said where the fiercest fighting is taking place.

"The most intense fighting is taking place on the eastern outskirts of Hrodivka, further along the border of Kamianyi and Krasnyi Yar, directly in Novohrodivka, lower down, near the eastern outskirts of Mykhailivka, which is located in front of Selydove. The fighting is extremely fierce. The enemy is throwing everything that can move and advance into the battle, trying to break through the defense of our troops," said Syrskyi.

According to him, the work at the headquarters continues almost around the clock, and non-standard decisions have to be made all the time.

Syrskyi emphasized that the Ukrainian military is showing courage and heroism in battles with superior enemy forces.

The soldiers of the 25th separate airborne brigade, whose actions cause significant losses to the occupiers, are showing extraordinary resilience. In addition, Syrskyi noted the servicemen of the 68th separate hunting ranger brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush and the 150th separate mechanized brigade, who leave no chance for the enemy to return alive and unharmed from the battlefield.

"In such circumstances, our main task is to strengthen the defense of our troops in the most difficult areas of the front, to provide the brigades with sufficient ammunition and other material and technical means. Actually, my work was devoted to solving these issues," noted Syrskyi.

Since the beginning of the day on August 29, our defenders have repelled 66 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector. More than half of them were in the areas of Hrodivka and Novohrodivka.

On Thursday, August 29, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held two important meetings on strategic issues at the front and operational tasks. In particular, they discussed the situation in the Pokrovske and Toretske directions and the Kursk operation.
