During the morning attack on the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, the Defense Forces shot down the enemy's large amphibious assault ship Caesar Kunikov. The attack was carried out with the help of drones by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

According to our sources, the Main Intelligence Directorate conducted an effective attack on an enemy ship in the Black Sea near the southern coast of Crimea. The attack was carried out using drones.

According to our source, after being hit, the warship first tilted to one side and then sank. It happened near Alupka.

The crew had virtually no chance of being rescued: the hole was large, so the Caesar Kunikov sank very quickly.

According to eyewitnesses, the Russians sent another ship to rescue the hit vessel, and a submarine was also spotted nearby. The invaders sent in aviation, including Mi-8 helicopters that flew low over the sea of Alupka to Katsiveli and back, as well as a Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter, which was spotted near Foros.

The videos filmed by Crimeans before the sinking of the Caesar Kunikov show a powerful detonation on the hit ship, and it is also clear that it is on fire.

The large landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Caesar Kunikov, launched in 1986, took part in Russia's aggression against Georgia in 2008, transported weapons and ammunition to the Russian contingent in Syria, and was involved in Russia's war against Ukraine.

In the spring of 2022, this ship was damaged during a strike by the Defense Forces against the occupiers in the seized port of Berdiansk.

The crew of the Caesar Kunikov consists of 87 people.
