Russian occupation forces launched a new missile attack against Ukrainian cities on the morning of May 1. The first explosions sounded before 05:00 in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, and Khmelnitsky oblasts, as sky defenders disarmed 15 of 18 enemy cruise missiles.

An air alert was declared in all oblasts. The Kyiv City Military Administration said air defenses were working after the explosions, urging residents to take cover.

"The air defense system is working! Remain calm! Stay in shelters until the air raid is over!" - the message said.

Ukrainians were urged to observe informational silence - not to record and not to put on the network the work of air defense forces.

In the Telegram channel "Dnepr Operative" reported that the explosions were heard in Dnipro and Pavlograd. The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak pointed out the work of the air defense and noted that our defenders are a force.

According to Sergii Popko, head of Kyiv City Military Administration, the Russian Armed Forces preliminarily fired missiles from strategic aviation planes (such as Tu95ms), while the enemy attacked with drones. In Kyiv's airspace, air defense forces destroyed all enemy missiles and UAVs.

"The data is being clarified. According to operational information at the moment, no civilian casualties or destruction of residential facilities or infrastructure have been recorded. The information is being verified and supplemented," he said.

The residents of Khmelnitsky region also heard explosions on Monday morning. However, the regional military administration assured that it was also the work of air defense forces.

"There were no hits on the facilities. Thanks to all who keep the skies above us!" - the post said.

Valery Zaluzhny, commander-in-chief of the AFU, said that during the enemy attack on May 1, our Air Force destroyed 15 of the 18 Russian cruise missiles that the occupiers had launched from strategic aviation aircraft.
