Russia throws new assault groups on Bakhmut, but the AFU counterattacks the enemy in some areas - Syrsky

Intense fighting continues in the Bakhmut direction of the front in Ukraine. Russian occupation troops have launched numerous attacks in an attempt to break through the defenses of our positions, but the enemy has been unsuccessful.

In some parts of the city the enemy was counterattacked by units of the defense forces and abandoned some positions. Colonel General Alexander Syrsky, commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, announced this after another visit to the front lines.

He stressed that the situation remains quite difficult, in an attempt to move forward the enemy makes maximum efforts and does not count the insane losses. New assault groups of the Wagner PMC, fighters of other private companies and paratroopers are constantly thrown into the battle, but despite this, the enemy does not manage to take control of the city.

Recall: Soldiers of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign reported that they had dislodged a grouping of the enemy from the "Basein" position near Bakhmut. For several months in a row it was a "bone in the throat" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but as a result of the successful operation about 40 occupants escaped, several more were taken prisoner, some were destroyed.
