On the night of Sunday, September 10, Russian occupation forces staged a new attack on Ukraine using Shahed attack drones. They entered our territory from the north. An alert was declared in several regions, after which the Air Defence began eliminating enemy targets.

The sounds of explosions were heard in Kyiv and the region. According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Air Defense destroyed 26 attack drones out of 33 launched by the enemy in the direction of the Kyiv region.

"Air defense is working in the Kyiv region and the capital. There are still UAVs moving towards Kyiv. Stay in shelters!" Kyiv mayor Vitaly Klychko wrote.

Later it became known about falling debris of enemy UAVs in the Sviatoshynsky, Shevchenkiskyi and Podilskyi districts of the capital. "All services are heading to the sites. All details later," Klychko noted.

UAV debris fell and caught fire on the roadway in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv.

The debris fell on the open area in Podilskyi district, there are no damaged buildings there. There is one victim: he has an acute reaction to stress. Medics provided the injured person with assistance on the spot.

"There was a fall of debris on an open area. No fires, casualties or damage to buildings were reported. The fall of debris damaged a parked car, road signs and trolleybus power lines. There was a fire, no injuries," SES said later.

UAV debris fell on the area of the Sovky Park in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv, there was a fire.

"Rescuers extinguished the fire in the open area. As a result of the fall of debris, there was a fire on a bench and a camping table. The fire was liquidated on the area of 5 square meters", SES noted.

The wreckage of the drone hit the apartment of a multi-story building in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The owners extinguished the fire themselves. No victims were reported, Kyiv RMA said.

"Rescuers liquidated the fire of grass decking and wooden sleepers in the open area. The call was received at 01:36. The fire was liquidated at 02:49 at a total area of 4 square meters. m. on the 24th floor in one of the apartments with damaged windows and personal belongings, there is no fire and victims", SES shared details.

Debris fell on a non-residential premises in the Darnytskyi district of the capital. No casualties were reported. SES did not provide any other details.

At 05:24, Kyiv RMA chief Serhiy Popko announced preliminary data on the work of Air Defense during the night attack: the defenders of the sky destroyed more than 20 kamikaze drones above the capital.

"This night the enemy attacked Kyiv with Shahed drones. They headed to the capital in groups from different directions. Air Defense Forces managed to destroy more than two dozen enemy UAVs," Popko noted, adding that the exact data on the number of downed drones and their type will be made public by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He also said that the wreckage of the drones mostly fell on open territory except Shevchenkivskyi district.

"The debris fell in several districts of the capital. A drone damaged an apartment in a high-rise building in the Shevchenkivskyi district. But most of the debris fell on open, undeveloped territory. Cars, trolleybus power lines and roads were damaged", the head of Kyiv RMA said.

The life of the victim of the previously reported night attack is not threatened, Popko added.

According to the information of the General Staff of the AFU, the occupants attacked Ukraine with 32 kamikaze drones of the Shahed-136/131 type at night. Ukraine's Air Defense Forces destroyed 25 UAVs. Most of the attack drones were launched on the Kyiv region.

Subsequently, the AFU released clarified data.

"On the night of September 10, 2023, the enemy attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136/131 type strike UAVs from the northern direction (Kursk, Russian Federation). As a result of combat work by forces and means of the Air Force in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, 26 Shahed-136/131 drones were destroyed," the report said.
