Air defence forces defeat Russian air targets

Air defence forces repulsed a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine on the night of 23 June. Thirteen Russian cruise missiles were shot down in the skies over several regions.

Additionally, the enemy launched a reconnaissance drone, which the defenders also destroyed. This was reported by the air force of the AFU.

It is noted that the aggressor country attempted to strike from strategic aircraft. This time the attack was aimed at a military airfield in the Khmelnytskyi region.

The launches took place around midnight from the Caspian Sea - a total from four Tu-95ms bombers.

"All 13 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles were destroyed by the air defence, most in Khmelnytskyi region," the report said.

The sky defenders also destroyed an enemy reconnaissance drone of an unspecified type.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration, Serhiy Lysak, has reported that the military from the Vostok air command has shot down one drone over the region this night. According to him, it was a kamikaze drone Shahed-136.

"Excellent work as always. Thank you! No other attacks on the region have been recorded. It was quiet everywhere," he wrote.

We shall remind you: after midnight on 23 June, an air alert was declared in Ukraine. Citizens were urged to take shelter immediately, warning of the missile danger. At that time, two Russian Tu-22m3s were recorded taking off from the Shaykovka airfield, and five Tu-95MS strategic bombers were also confirmed taking off.

Subsequently, explosions were heard in Khmelnytskyi region. The Air Force noted that air defence was triggered in the region.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, on the night of 22 June, the Russian Federation attacked Odesa Region with Shahed-type kamikaze drones. Air defence forces destroyed three enemy UAVs, with another one hitting a warehouse.
