The occupants are trying to advance near Kupiansk
Russian invaders want to break through the Ukrainian defense in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction. The enemy is forming a "strike fist" near the Novoyehorivka locality in the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv Region.
The occupants continue the tactics of "meat" assaults, conduct intensive shelling, as well as trying to commit sabotage. Ilia Yevlash, head of the press service of the Eastern group of the AFU troops, said this on the air of the Yedyni novyny TV marathon on Friday, September 8 (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the page).
"The Russians continue to prepare their assault units to break through our defenses in the Lymano-Kupiansk direction. They are constantly trying to organize some provocations and sabotage. There is very intensive shelling of our defenders all the time," the military officer said.
According to him, the aggressor country collects combined units in the area of Novoyehorivka,
"These are the remnants of, let's say, unkilled units, those that had been previously destroyed by the Defense Forces. Now our intelligence notices that they are forming it from various such remnants. They are also engaging everyone they can in combat operations. Only their replenishment is not happening the way it used to," Yevlash said.
He added that the occupiers attract even communicators to the assault squads. Also, a large number of different private military companies, including new ones, are operating in the war against Ukraine.
Our defenders record that the enemy has quite big problems with equipment in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction.
"They are already trying to create some new samples. They have problems and they continue with such tactics of advancing in large numbers and throwing everyone into the crucible of war like meat," the representative of the Armed Forces added.
