Evacuation crew comes under fire near Chasiv Yar

On Monday, May 15, a vehicle of the National Police unit "White Angel" came under fire from the Russian army in the Donetsk region. Five law enforcement officers were injured.

It happened near the town of Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut district, acting head of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vygivskyi said on his Facebook page. According to him, the condition of the victims is being investigated (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

Vygivskyi also showed photos and videos of the car fired upon by the Russian occupiers and added that the police officers were able to get out of the area on their own.

On the recording, one of the victims said that, fortunately, everyone in the car survived. However, the car itself was heavily damaged, and its doors were jammed.

 
 
 

As you know, the White Angel unit is engaged in the evacuation of civilians from settlements near the frontline, delivery of humanitarian aid to places where volunteers cannot go, evacuation of the bodies of wounded or killed soldiers, and provision of medical care in hot spots.

The police unit has evacuated thousands of Ukrainians, including 600 children.

 

 

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the Russian army shelled the private sector of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, on the night of Monday, May 15. The occupiers damaged three dozen residential buildings.

In Avdiivka, Donetsk region, 4 civilians died as a result of the morning shelling. Occupants launched a missile attack on a hospital.
