MEP Marion Mareschal did not hold back her emotions either.

"To all the Christians in the world who are watching the Olympics and feel offended by this parody of the Last Supper, know that it is not France that is saying this, but a leftist minority ready for any provocation," wrote Mareschal on social media.

In a few days, the telecommunications company C Spire removed all advertising from the Olympic Games. C Spire is the sixth largest wireless provider in the United States.

"We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris. C Spire will pull its advertising from the 2024 Games," the company said in a statement to X.

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves spoke after the announcement.

"I am proud that the private sector in Mississippi has stepped up. God will not be mocked. Common sense prevailed with C Spire," Reeves said.
