"We are like light": Russia declares itself "the last guardian of Olympic values"
Russian Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev has issued a spectacularly absurd opinion about the exclusivity of Russians, whom he called "the last guardians of Olympic values." An accomplice of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime, he spouted nonsense about the aggressor country bringing light to the world.
Degtyarev said this in a pseudo-report at a session with the pretentious title "Changing Milestones in World Sport. Shaping Our Response," the propaganda news agency TASS reported. In a patriotic flourish, he also added that the Russian Anti-Doping Agency is the best in the world.

Russia is isolated from world sport.
"We will initiate all additional competition formats ourselves, they will be exclusively in addition to the main ones, to the Olympic Games. We are the last guardians of Olympic values. We are like the light. We will return to the Olympic Games and develop other formats in parallel. And we will resolve the issue with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), and RUSADA will get its accreditation back. Already, all the friends who come from there say that this is the best agency, informally on the sidelines. We will get it recognized legally as well," Degtyarev said.
