The "right" coffee doesn't harm the heart: study
Many people can't imagine their morning without a cup of aromatic coffee. Their favorite drink gives them a charge of vivacity and energy for the day. However, very often we hear that coffee is bad for health. Fortunately, scientists do not confirm it. On the contrary, if you drink coffee no more than three times a day, it contributes to the proper functioning of the cardiovascular system and increases life expectancy.
In fact, the main thing is to observe moderation in everything, because even healthy products can harm you if you consume them uncontrollably. And coffee is no exception. Eat This, Not That! told about the latest research on the effects of coffee on the human body.
In their experiment, scientists collected information on nearly 469,000 people with a healthy heart and assessed how often they consumed coffee. Participants were divided into three groups: those who do not drink coffee; those who consume no more than 3 cups a day; and those who drink much more.
After an eleven-year analysis, medical researchers were able to obtain comprehensive information on the effects of coffee consumption on heart function. Their findings indicated that low or moderate coffee consumption reduced the percentage of total mortality by 12% compared to those who did not drink it at all, and was also associated with a 17% reduction in the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and developing a stroke by 21%.
In addition, Dr. Pal Maurovic-Horvat notes that excessive consumption of coffee also showed no negative effects on the heart, but there were no positive changes.
Coffee contains a lot of antioxidants, which can have an anti-inflammatory effect and prevent heart disease. Because not all coffee is so beneficial, experts advise following a few simple tips to achieve a positive effect.
Consume natural coffee. Avoid flavored coffee beans and use natural ingredients such as cinnamon for flavor.
Add the right milk. Many people like coffee with cream, but they contain too much saturated fat. As an alternative, try nonfat dairy products, such as oat milk or soy milk.
Watch your portions. Don't abuse your favorite beverage, especially outside the home. It often contains too much sugar or syrup.
Drink coffee with meals. Caffeine can suppress appetite, which can lead to increased feelings of hunger at the end of the day. Also, avoid coffee when you are stressed, as the combination can cause an upset stomach and increase anxiety.
As you can see, it is possible to drink coffee without harming your body. Following certain rules will not only give you the pleasure of your favorite drink, but also help to protect your heart and improve your health.
Earlier OBOZREVATEL told about the benefits of the famous drink. Researchers noted that moderate coffee consumption reduces the risk of developing liver cancer.
