Why Zelensky did not go on a visit to Israel: Ambassador clarifies the situation

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously planned to visit Israel. A tentative date was set, but the visit was postponed at the initiative of the Ukrainian side.

This was stated by Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky. In an interview withRBC-Ukraine, he noted that when Hamas terrorists carried out a large-scale attack on October 7, 2023, the head of the Ukrainian state appealed to world leaders and called on them to come to Israel to support the people.

Kyiv's position was "definitely noticed" in Jerusalem, Brodsky assured.

"Ukraine, as I have said in many interviews, is one of the most pro-Israeli countries in Europe. We feel this at all levels, and what is especially important is that we feel it in terms of Ukrainian public opinion, which is clearly on the side of Israel. And we appreciate the President's call, made immediately after October 7, for world leaders to come to Israel and show solidarity.

Unfortunately, the president himself has not yet come to Israel. We hope that this visit will take place. We will be happy to see President Zelensky in Israel at any time," the ambassador said.

There is currently no new date for the Ukrainian president's visit to Israel.
