President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, traditionally addressing Ukrainians on the evening of 20 June, began his speech by thanking the defenders of the sky, the Air Defence Forces for every enemy missile shot down, for every destroyed "shahed" launched against us by Russia. He noted that last night alone, our military managed to shoot down three dozen combat drones, which means hundreds of lives saved.

The President's words were broadcast by the press service of his Office. The politician listed the main events of the day, and unfortunately, in addition to the successes, there was also sad news (to watch the video, scroll to the end).

"Today, rescuers were injured in Kherson as a result of occupants' shelling... They were dealing with the aftermath of the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station and were shelled by enemy artillery. Eight employees of the State Emergency Service were injured, one, unfortunately, was killed... My condolences to the families and friends! Ukrainian soldiers will definitely respond to all this meanness," Zelenskyy said.

He noted that every such crime against Ukraine by the Russian Federation is an argument that the occupiers have no chance of staying on our land. There is no place for murderers and terrorists in our country and there never will be.

The next important item on the President's agenda for today was the first meetings in London at a conference dedicated to rebuilding Ukraine's infrastructure after the victory of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Discussions have already taken place in Switzerland and Germany, in France and Italy: work is underway at various levels to restore our country.

"A restored Ukraine, a transformed Ukraine, a strengthened Ukraine is a security carrier and a guarantor of security, it is protection against any form of terror and protection against any repetition of Russian aggression," the leader of the nation explained.

Zelenskyy has also announced his speech at the event, where he will present some aspects of the philosophy of Ukraine's transformation. The full content will be presented later this month, but in Ukraine itself.

"Together with our partners and all together here at home in Ukraine, we must ensure that after us there will be only security, only freedom, only peace for Ukraine," he said.

Summing up his speech, the Ukrainian guarantor thanked all the partners who provide assistance and train our soldiers. He pointed out the value of every soldier who risks his life every day for the peaceful life of his fellow citizens.

"I thank everyone who is fighting and working for Ukraine! I thank each and every one of our soldiers who is now in combat, on combat posts and combat missions! Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk region - you are great, guys!" - he summarised.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL reported that the day before, President Zelenskyy held regular talks with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The politicians discussed the course of hostilities, Ukraine's defence needs, and further cooperation to expand the capabilities of our army on the battlefield, in particular through long-range weapons.
