What holidays are celebrated on November 2
November 2, according to the New Julian calendar, is the day of remembrance of the saints Akíndynos, Pigasius, Anempodistus and 7 thousand martyrs with them. The men lived at the court of Emperor Shapur II, who ruled from 310 to 381, and were devout Christians. One day the emperor decided to start persecuting and killing the followers of Christ's teachings. He heard rumors about the faith of Akíndynos, Pigasius, and Anempodistus. The men of the court honestly confirmed their faith and endured all the suffering and torture. Shapur ordered them to be hung over the fire, but the prayers of the saints extinguished the flames. The next day the martyrs were burned.
In 2013, the UN General Assembly decided to proclaim November 2 as the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists.
