That's why it's important to conduct research first, so experts have published a rating of the most reliable used cars. The data was collected in the UK according to the 2023 Driver Power survey. Every year, thousands of drivers participate in the Driver Power ratings, and it is thanks to them that experts have identified models that are trustworthy.

Subaru XV

• Reliability rating: 94,38%
• Years of production: 2012-2017

The Subaru XV is not a very popular model, but it deserves to be considered by potential buyers more often. As one of only two Subarus to make the top 10 list, the XV is the most reliable model and was ranked first in Driver Power's safety features.

Skoda Yeti

• Reliability rating: 94,57%
• Years of production: 2009-2017

The first Skoda SUV still has a loyal fan base. It is a high-quality, reliable and comfortable family car. The Yeti is appreciated for its flexible seats and child-friendly features, and drivers also praise its driving dynamics.

Lexus CT

• Reliability rating: 94,94%
• Years of production: 2011-2022

Even after the concern stopped eleven years of production of the Lexus CT, the model continues to be a hit. This compact hatchback has excellent build quality and will appeal to fans of bright style. However, users say the infotainment system is a bit outdated.

Lexus NX

• Reliability rating: 95,46%
• Years of production: 2014-2021

Not only was the Karoq found by most buyers to be a hassle-free drive, but it was actually rated the second best used car in Driver Power 2023. One of the real drawbacks is its rather conservative design.

Toyota Prius

• Years of production: 2015-2022

The Toyota Prius has undoubtedly proven its reliability and gained many fans over the years. Toyota's hybrid powertrain has been praised for its fuel economy and low maintenance.

Lexus RX

• Reliability rating: 96,07%
• Years of production: 2015-2022

Like its predecessor, the Lexus RX is often found in the Driver Power reliability rating. Drivers note quick acceleration, smooth shifting, and even a quiet engine sound. Safety is another strong point of the Lexus, but some users find the internal controls quite difficult to understand.

Subaru Outback

• Reliability rating: 96,18%
• Years of production: 2014-2020

This midsize SUV shares many of the XV's strengths, including high reliability. However, the difference is that, according to owners, this vehicle has the edge when it comes to practicality. The Outback was ranked second overall for rear seat space, trunk space, and road smoothness. However, its high running costs and low fuel economy are somewhat disappointing.

Lexus RX

• Years of production: 2008-2015

The predecessor of the Lexus RX still ranks high on this list, but it can't beat its big brother. The Mk3 was discontinued a few years ago, but it still proves to be a reliable SUV that has an edge over newer cars when it comes to practicality, style, and interior comfort.

Lexus GS

• Years of production: 2011-2015

Once again, the Lexus GS is at the top of the charts. It is the most reliable used car. For the third year in a row, the executive sedan has received the highest rating from Driver Power in all areas. Exterior quality, interior style, front seat comfort, visibility, ride comfort, safety system reliability, overall quality, climate control and audio system - all indicators received the highest scores.
