The most delicate dough for dumplings with kefir: how to cook it properly so that it does not spread

Varenyky are a traditional Ukrainian main dish. Every housewife has her own recipe for making dough, which she believes makes the dish the most successful.

Food blogger Vika Korolivska shared her own recipe for dumpling dough on Instagram. She uses kefir as the base, which makes the dough as tender as possible and never spreads.

Ingredients:

  • Egg - 1 pc.
  • Kefir - 300 gr.
  • Soda - 5 gr.
  • Salt - 10 gr.
  • Oil - 40 ml.
  • Flour - 500 gr.
  • Sour cream

Method of preparation:

1. Mix the egg with kefir, add baking soda, salt and beat well.

2. Gradually add the flour, and at the end add the oil.

3. Knead the elastic dough and let it rest in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.

4. Divide the dough into pieces, roll out and shape dumplings with your favorite filling.

5. Cook the dumplings for 7-8 minutes until tender.

6. Serve with flavored sour cream and sprinkle with fresh dill.
