RML Group has presented the P39, a completely updated Porsche 911 Turbo S. Inspired by GT1 racing cars of the mid-1990s as well as modern Le Mans hypercars, the Porsche 911 underwent radical changes thanks to a completely new carbon fiber body.

Its wheelbase has been increased by 25 mm, which has contributed to an overall length increase of 170 mm and increased stability at high speeds. More details about the updated sports car were revealed by Autocar.

The front and rear tracks have been stretched by 100 mm each to improve the car's handling, although the body is only 90 mm wider than the 911 Turbo S.

The new body was designed to maximize downforce, with individual active aerodynamics systems. There's also a system that adjusts the rear spoiler to reduce drag by 56%, said to be worth an extra 16 km per hour of top speed. The suspension can be lowered to create even more downforce.

In total, these changes amount to 923 kg of downforce at 445 km per hour - an increase of 719 kg compared to the 204 kg generated by the 911 Turbo S at the same speed.

The 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine has also been updated, with a new pair of turbochargers and changes to the intercoolers, manifolds, catalytic converters and engine management system. It produces 900 hp and 1000 Nm of torque - an increase of 259 hp compared to the 911 Turbo S.

RML claims that, according to simulations, the P39 will lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6 minutes 45 seconds - 4.3 seconds faster than Porsche's official time for the 911 GT3 RS.

Despite the extreme modifications made to the P39, RML experts guarantee that the car will be well controlled on the open road. It has a special Tour driving mode that increases ground clearance and weakens the shock absorbers.

RML CEO Michael Mallock noted that RML will produce 10 copies of the P39 40th Special Edition (named in connection with the current celebration of the company's 40th anniversary) worth more than $570 thousand. Each 40SE will be finished in RML's signature ruby red color and feature custom forged alloy wheels measuring 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the rear.

The first model will be completed in March and will appear at Nordschleife in the summer. It will be followed by a series of slightly less extreme versions of the P39, although with the same chassis and aerodynamic settings.
