Pea soup with ribs: how to cook properly so that the peas are well cooked
One of the most delicious and satisfying homemade soups is pea soup. To make the peas soft and cook quickly after cooking, soak them in water overnight with baking soda.
The cook shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious and hearty pea soup with spices and ribs.
Ingredients:
- smoked ribs - 400 g
- split peas - 500 g
- large potatoes - 3 pcs.
- carrots - 2 pcs.
- onions - 2 pcs.
- salt
- greens at will
- crackers for serving
- water - 2.5 liters
Method of preparation:
1. Rinse the peas, and cover with water for about 1 hour.
2. Put the ribs, a whole carrot, an onion, chopped potatoes, and peas in a saucepan, add water, and cook until the peas are fully cooked, don't forget to skim off the foam. Then take the carrots and onions out of the pot, disassemble the ribs from the bones, and chop the meat.
3. Fry grated carrots and onions in a preheated frying pan. Put the vegetables and chopped meat into the soup and cook for another 10-15 minutes, adjusting the thickness of the soup with water.
4. Add seasoning at the end and stir.
Serve the soup with herbs and croutons!
