Original liver appetizer for the New Year's table: a simple recipe for a budget dish
Chicken liver is one of the most budget-friendly, yet very healthy and tasty products that can be the basis for making delicious cutlets, chops, salads, snacks, and pates. The liver can also be deliciously fried with onions and baked in the oven with plums and apples, which will make the liver soft and juicy.
The cook shared on Instagram a recipe for a very simple, but tasty and satisfying chicken liver dish.
Ingredients:
- chicken liver - 700 g
- eggs - 1 pc.
- sour cream - 1 tbsp
- spices for chicken - 0.5 tsp
- salt to taste
- flour - 5 tbsp
- carrots - 1 pc.
- onion - 1 pc.
- mayonnaise - 70 ml.
- garlic - 3 cloves.
- green onions
- oil for frying
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the liver from the films and beat in a blender until smooth. Add the egg, sour cream, salt, spices, and flour to the mixture. Mix thoroughly until a smooth dough is obtained.
2. Heat a frying pan with oil and fry the thin cakes on both sides until golden brown.
3. Fry the onions and carrots. Mix mayonnaise (sour cream) with grated garlic.
4. Lay out the products in portions, one by one, spread with mayonnaise with garlic, onions, and carrots. Spread the top crust with mayonnaise and garnish with green onions, if desired.
There can be any kind of filling. For example – fried mushrooms, caramelized onions, stewed carrots, finely chopped boiled eggs, melted cheese, and fresh herbs – each ingredient gives the dish a special taste!
