Ingredients:
- freshly frozen mackerel 1 pc.
- carrot 1 pc.
- onion 1 pc.+0.5 pc.
- salt 0.5 tsp.
- bay leaf 1 pc.
- peppercorns and allspice 3 pcs.
- mustard 1-2 tsp.
- cream cheese or sour cream 20% 100 g
Method of preparation:
1. Gut the fish, cut off the head and tail. Put it in a saucepan, add onions, carrots and spices, cover with water, salt, and cook for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it stand for another 15 minutes.
2. Remove all the bones from the cooked fish and flake it with a fork. Add the cottage cheese, which can be replaced with sour cream, mustard, and very finely chopped onion if desired.
3. Mix everything thoroughly, season with salt, and let stand in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
