Mimosa in a new way: how to cook a familiar salad deliciously

Mimosa is one of the most delicious, satisfying and easy-to-prepare salads. The dish is almost always prepared with canned fish, but it can also be substituted with baked mackerel.

The cook shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious Mimosa salad with melted cheese, eggs and onions.

Salad recipe

Ingredients:

  • potatoes 250 g (2 pcs)
  • carrots 250 g (2 pcs)
  • eggs 4 pcs
  • sardines in oil 230 g (1 can)
  • processed cheese 2 pcs
  • 1 medium onion
  • boiling water
  • vinegar 9%
  • mayonnaise to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Boil potatoes, carrots and eggs. Cool and peel and grate.

2. Finely chop the onion, pour boiling water and vinegar in a 1:1 ratio, and marinate for 30 minutes.

3. Drain the sardines, put them on a plate and mash them with a fork.

4. Separate the egg whites from the yolks.

5. Assemble the salad in layers: the first layer is grated potatoes, then mayonnaise. The second layer is sardines. Squeeze the onion well from the liquid, pour it over the fish, then the mayonnaise. The third layer is carrots and mayonnaise. Fourth layer - grated proteins, mayonnaise. Fifth layer - processed cheese, mayonnaise. Top layer - grated egg yolks on a fine grater. Decorate to taste.

Refrigerate for several hours.
