"It's already a lot": Kharlan answered the question whether she will finish her career after the Olympics-2024
Two-time Olympic champion Olha Kharlan is not going to end her sports career yet. The 33-year-old fencer has not ruled out her participation in the Games 2028, which will be hosted by the American Los Angeles and which may become the sixth for the saber fencer from Mykolaiv.
This Kharlan said in a commentary "Suspilne Sport". The athlete noted that now she wants to rest after the performance at the Olympics in Paris, and then already make further plans. The performance in the United States in four years, emphasized Olha, will depend on her physical condition.
"Of course, everyone wants me to fence even before Los Angeles. And I would be interested. However, everything depends on how my body will allow, and what my moral state will be. I mean, I can fence as I want – both at 40 and at 42. In Los Angeles, I will be almost 38. But still this figure – five Olympiads – is already a lot. And then I think: but I started early, I was almost 18. I don't know, I can't answer that question yet. We are resting now," Kharlan said.
At the Games in Paris, Kharlan became the most titled Ukrainian athlete at the Olympic Games, breaking the record of Yana Klochkova.
