The International Olympic Committee has published the first names of those athletes who will be able to compete at the 2024 Games

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has begun to announce the names of neutral athletes with Russian and Belarusian passports who will be allowed to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games. The first list includes the names of 14 Russians who will be able to participate in road cycling, trampolining, weightlifting, and wrestling at the Paris Games.

In total, 42 Russians have won licenses to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in these sports. After an IOC review, 17 applications were not confirmed.

At the same time, the IOC did not allow any of the four Russians and the only representative with a Belarusian flag to participate in taekwondo. Among those banned are three medalists from the last Games in Tokyo.

The full list of those admitted looks like this:

  • Cycling: Tamara Dronova, Elena Ivanchenko, Alexander Vlasov.
  • Trampolining: Angela Bladtseva.
  • Wrestling: Nachin Mongush, Shamil Mamedov, Arslan Bagayev, Abdulla Kurbanov, Alan Ostayev, Magomed Murtazaliev, Natalia Malysheva, Veronika Chumikova, Alina Kasabieva, Elizaveta Petlyakova.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, on March 19, the International Olympic Committee allowed Russians who qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris in neutral status under strict conditions.
