Ingredients

  • Flour - 280-310 gr
  • Butter - 100 gr
  • Sugar - 100 gr
  • Honey - 3-4 tbsp
  • Egg - 1 pc
  • Cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • Ginger - 1 tsp
  • Soda - ½ tsp
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Cocoa - for color

Method of preparation.

1. Mix butter, sugar and honey in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar is completely dissolved and the texture is smooth.

2. Add spices and let it cool slightly. Carefully add the egg and mix with a whisk. If you add it to a too hot mass, the egg will split.

3. Gradually add the flour and baking soda (and cocoa if desired) and knead the dough. The dough should be flexible, not sticky. If the dough is sticky, add more flour.

4. Form a ball and wrap it in cling film. Leave it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

5. Roll out the dough 1-2 cm thick, cut out the molds.

6. Place on a baking sheet with parchment and bake for 13-14 minutes at 180°.

Useful tips for making gingerbread cookies from the cook:

  • This recipe can also be prepared without preheating. You need to take butter at room temperature and grind it with sugar and honey.
  • It is important to make sure that the cookies do not overcook. Therefore, you should make the cookies thicker.
  • If you don't have a rolling mat for rolling out the dough, dust the surface with flour beforehand. This will make it easier to separate the cut out cookie shapes.
  • Soda can be replaced with 1 tsp of baking powder.
  • If you reduce the amount of butter, the cookies will be more crispy. Also, it is better to take butter with a higher fat content - 82%.
