How to make homemade orange jam: the perfect addition to any pastry
On a cool autumn evening, you always want tea and delicious pastries. Homemade orange jam will be a great addition to this tandem. It is worth making it right now because there are a lot of these citrus fruits in stores and markets.
The idea of making homemade orange jam was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Tetiana Sheremet. The preparation is moderately sweet and flavorful.
Ingredients:
- oranges – 1 kg (already peeled)
- sugar – 800 g
- lemons – 1 pc
- agar-agar – 1 pack (8 g)
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the oranges well.
2. Dry with a paper towel and then start cooking.
3. Using a grater, peel the zest from all the oranges, only the upper part. Do the same with the lemon.
4. Peel the oranges and cut them into medium dice.
5. Add the juice of 1 lemon to the sliced oranges and put in a saucepan.
6. Pour agar-agar into the sugar, mix, and add to the oranges, add the zest, mix, bring to a boil, and then cook for 1 hour over low heat.
7. Cool the finished jam a little and pour it into dry jars.
8. Store in the refrigerator.
