The cost of vacation in Odesa

Despite the situation in the country, this Black Sea pearl is ready to welcome tourists. Read below to find out which beaches are already open.

Which beaches are officially open in 2024

  • Arcadia

The most famous embankment of Odesa. It is not only a place for swimming and sunbathing but also a real paradise for those who seek entertainment, vibrant nightlife, and unforgettable experiences. The name comes from the Greek mountainous region, which, according to legend, was considered by the locals to be an oasis of peace and happiness.

It offers a magnificent view of the Black Sea, and the coastal area is surrounded by picturesque parks and green spaces. All the necessary things for guests are located on the territory: changing rooms, showers, toilets, cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there are amusement rides and slides.

The facility is famous for its nightclubs and discos. By the way, the entrance to the coast is free. For an additional fee, guests will receive a sun lounger and umbrella. You can enjoy a delicious meal at the Chaika restaurant, and we recommend trying Georgian cuisine at the Khinkalnya Tarhun.

  • Hawaii

Be sure to visit this water park in Arcadia. From May to September, there are many water attractions, a SPA, and a jacuzzi. The location is perfect for families with children. There are several swimming pools for kids, and they also sell cotton candy and ice cream.

A studio apartment with a sea view for 5 days for two people will cost ₴6995. A double room in economy class costs ₴6500. For lunch in an inexpensive restaurant, you will have to pay from ₴150.

The closest recommended shelter is located in the Arcadia City shopping center.

  • Caleton

The modern beach is famous for its cleanliness and stylish interior. The resort has received the international Blue Flag award for several years in a row. Interestingly, specialists here even clean the water from algae. Here you can rent a sunbed and get a free towel and pillow.

It is also a great place for those who come with kids. There is a playground for children and a special menu in the restaurant. By the way, the territory is divided into two parts. Therefore, noisy companies and married couples do not intersect at all.

As for entertainment, a huge city with slides and an artificial waterfall has been set up for tourists.

Prices in Odesa

A double room in a hostel for two people for five nights will cost ₴4675. The price for a double apartment ranges from ₴7500 and up. It all depends on the location and proximity to the shore.

Apartments with a living room, bedroom, and bathroom will cost ₴6500. Scrambled eggs with bacon and Bavarian sausages for breakfast cost ₴190, oatmeal for lunch - ₴170. Chicken broth for lunch costs ₴165.

Safety rules

When vacationing on the beaches of Odesa, you need to follow safety rules.

It is forbidden to rest:

  • if there is an air raid alert
  • if suspicious objects are found in the water and on the shore
  • if a storm has started that is rated more than 2 points
  • outside of swimming areas
  • on piers, traverses, breakwaters and other coastal structures

Some coasts are still waiting for permission to start the holiday season. Specialists are inspecting recreation areas and determining which embankments meet safety standards. The Odesa Regional Military Administration is in control of this process. Only those coastlines where there are shelters nearby will be opened.

What to see in Odesa

  • Potemkin Stairs

The monument is one of the most beautiful structures in Europe. For reference, it has 192 steps. The location was praised by Alexander Grin and Mark Twain.

Climbing to the top, you can see an incredible view. Nearby, there is a funicular (the first in Ukraine) that connects Prymorska Street with Prymorskyi Boulevard. The lift was built in 1902. After numerous changes, the rail transport was reopened in 2005 in honor of the 211th anniversary of the city's foundation.

  • Opera House

One of the most famous places in Odesa. The repertoire includes more than 80 ballet, children's, and concert programs. The building was erected in the Viennese Baroque style, so it looks luxurious not only outside but also inside. The cultural building houses a museum where guests can feel the spirit of art and touch history.

  • Botanical Garden of the National University

A huge number of exhibits from all over the world are presented here. The park is home to over 3000 species of plants. It was founded back in 1867, and it flourished quietly until the Second World War. However, with the outbreak of hostilities, the botanical garden was severely damaged. Unfortunately, only a few representatives of the flora were preserved. After 1945, the restoration of the reserve began. Today it is a part of the natural fund of Ukraine.

  • Prymorskyi Boulevard

The complex of architectural monuments is located on the edge of a plateau. It includes the Vorontsov Palace, the Former Exchange and Zavadovskyi Houses. During a walk, you can imagine the majestic balls of the tsarist era or the sound of the royal carriage. By the way, in 2023, the location was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Why not just put things aside and go on a summer vacation? We see no reason to ignore this year's vacation. The main thing is to follow the safety rules and go to the shelter in case of alarm.
