Usyk congratulated Alimkhanuly

Kazakhstan's Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (16-0, 11 KOs) won a spectacular victory over New Zealand-born St. Petersburg native Andrei Mikhailovich (21-1, 13 KOs). The triumphant defended the International Boxing Federation (IBF) middleweight championship belt.

Alimkhanuly had a complete advantage in the fight. From the first rounds, he took the center of the ring, and in the second three minutes, he knocked his opponent down. Mikhailovich was saved by the bell, as the referee started the countdown after the time had expired, allowing the Russian native to continue the fight.

By the middle of the fight, both boxers were tired, but the Kazakh was much faster. As a result, at the end of the ninth round, Alimkhanuly threw several series and forced Mikhailovich to fall again. He tried to get up but just started crawling around the ring, forcing the referee to record a technical knockout.

Ukrainian super champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) reacted to Zhanibek's victory. He promptly contacted the Kazakhstani to congratulate him on his successful defense. "Congratulations! My whole team congratulates you in the same spirit, just as much! Brother, we hug you," said our boxer.
