Coca-Cola proved its support for Russia in a new Christmas commercial. It ignored the war in Ukraine

Coca-Cola disgraced themselves by mentioning Russia

On the occasion of Christmas, the American soft drink brand Coca-Cola filmed a reality project to support people whose birthdays fall at the end of December. However, the 15-minute touching video was overshadowed by the mention of terrorist Russia.

It was broadcast on YouTube, and an OBOZ.UA correspondent became an accidental witness to the events. The company chose as the main character an American woman who was born on December 22, and therefore every year her birthday is not as fun as it could be because of the expectation of Christmas.

She was taken to the city of Cascais, one of the most expensive resorts in Portugal, where people on the streets and from banners shouted birthday greetings instead of "Merry Christmas."

During a walk near street advertising billboards, the birthday woman was greeted by strangers from different countries and her friend.

Russia was one of the first countries mentioned, and people from Brazil and New Zealand were also invited to participate. Interestingly, no country in Europe congratulated the heroine of the ad, even though the video was filmed there.

Two Russian women simultaneously said in their own language, "Happy birthday from Russia". This "greeting" from the citizens of a terrorist country was broadcast live to the whole world.

The rest of the story is filled with joy, fireworks and merry singing, but the war in Ukraine is not mentioned a single word, so we can conclude that the brand is loyal to the Russians and is not ashamed to pay them for participating in the advertisement.

Instead of expressing support for Ukrainians who have been celebrating Christmas for two years in a full-scale war without being able to get together with their families and enjoy it, the American company is doing unnecessary PR for Russia.

Coca-Cola continues to "sit on two chairs" by operating in Russia and creating the appearance of helping Ukraine in the war. In March 2022, the company's website claimed that the corporation was leaving the Russian market, but as it turned out later, Coca-Cola HBC Eurasia LLC changed its name to Moulton Partners LLC and launched the Dobra Kola drink on the Russian market, which is a complete copy of the famous drink.

As OBOZ.UA wrote, this is not the first time Coca-Cola has been disgraced by an ambiguous position. After the occupation of the peninsula, the company published a map of the Russian Federation with the temporarily occupied Crimea, which caused a loud scandal.
