Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid failed to make it to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Olympic Games, which are currently taking place in the French capital of Paris. Our compatriot earned a disqualification for extra time in her fight with Haruka Funakubo of Japan.

The fight in the weight category of up to 57 kilograms turned out to be very tense. The girls were not inferior to each other in the main four minutes, receiving warnings for the lack of active actions. At the same time, the athletes also failed to make effective attacks - 0:0.

However, in the extra time of only a minute, the 23-year-old from Kyiv received two more yellow cards, which automatically led to a red card, disqualification and victory for the Japanese. Failure to reach the quarterfinals means that Daria will not even be eligible for the consolation matches and the opportunity to compete for bronze.

After the defeat, the Ukrainian could not contain her emotions - she wrapped her arms around her head and burst into tears. We would like to remind you that Bilodid won the opening match of the Games in Paris, destroying her opponent in just six seconds.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Japanese judoka Uta Abe threw a tantrum after losing for the first time in five years and dropping out of the 2024 Olympics.
