US child becomes the youngest member of the high IQ community

Two-year-old Isla McNabb from Kentucky (USA) became the youngest member of the largest and oldest community of people with high IQs (Mensa). In addition, the child's ability to read words prompted her parents to apply to the Guinness Book of Records.

The child's high intellectual abilities were noticed after she was presented with a writing tablet for her second birthday. This was reported by The Guardian.

Isla's parents, Jason and Amanda McNabb, told the Guinness World Records website that their daughter read the word "red" on the tablet, although she is about 4-5 years younger than the age when most children usually acquire this ability.

The girl's father began writing the words "blue," "yellow," "cat," and "dog." Isla confidently read out each word. After that, Isla's parents said they began to notice words written all over the house in colorful toy letters. The letters C-H-A-I-R remained next to the chair, and the letters spelling S-O-F-A were laid out next to the couch. At some point, Isla's parents found their pet kitten next to the letters C-A-T.

After that, the girl's parents suggested to the Guinness Book of World Records that their daughter take an IQ test. The psychologist who tested Isla specializes in gifted children. In the end, the girl scored 99% on the Stanford-Binet IQ test.

After that, the Guinness Book of World Records officially recognized her as the youngest female Mensa member in the world. Isla realized that this achievement led to media coverage: she has seen herself on television and sometimes asks her parents to upload her videos to YouTube. But for the most part, she is unaware of her exceptionally high IQ.

In 2011, 29-year-old Jyoti Amge officially became the Guinness Book of World Records' smallest woman in the world. Her height is only 62 centimeters. It has not changed for 26 years. The woman has been suffering from chondrodystrophy, a form of dwarfism, since birth.
