Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets and his Russian counterpart Tatyana Moskalkova met in Belarus. They were present during the repatriation of the bodies of the dead, and also exchanged lists of prisoners of war and letters from relatives.

Lubinets announced this on his official Telegram channel. He said that the meeting was held with the assistance of the Belarusian side and with the participation of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

According to the ombudsman, the main outcome was the repatriation of the bodies of the dead.

In addition, Ukraine's humanitarian mission has once again helped reunite families.

As a result of the negotiations, a 91-year-old woman met with her son.

"In this way, we show that family reunification is the most important thing, and we hope that our communication on this issue will continue," Lubinets said.

The ombudsmen of Ukraine and Russia also exchanged lists of prisoners of war visited by both sides (Ukraine – Russian prisoners of war on its territory, Russia – Ukrainian prisoners of war on its territory).

In addition, Lubinets and Moskalkova exchanged letters.

"We started a new format: we handed over letters from Ukrainian relatives to Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russia," said the Ukrainian ombudsman.

Lubinets also talked to the leadership of the ICRC missions in Ukraine and Russia, and once again insisted on the ICRC's access to Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians, the official statement said.

"I would like to emphasize that I interact with the Russian Ombudsman to resolve humanitarian issues, return Ukrainians home, and obtain information about our citizens in the Russian Federation," he said.

At the same time, during the latest repatriation activities, the Russians did not return the body of Ukrainian journalist Viktoriia Roshchyna , who died in Russian captivity, Petro Yatsenko, a representative of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, told reporters.

"Unfortunately, there is no body of Viktoriia," he said.
