Without rice: meatballs for a budget-friendly and satisfying dinner for the whole family
Meatballs are an ideal alternative to cutlets and stuffed cabbage, which are based on rice and minced meat, but can also be cooked without rice. To spice things up, add tomato, cream sauce, garlic, herbs, and spices.
- minced meat - 500 g
- onion - 2 pcs
- eggs - 1 pc
- breadcrumbs - 0.5 cups
- vegetable oil - 30 ml
- greens - optional
- salt pepper
- tomato paste - 1 tbsp
- hot water - 2 cups
- flour - 1 tbsp
- butter - 1 tbsp
- salt, pepper - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Mix the minced meat with chopped onion, add the egg, add the breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and herbs, mix.
2. Form meatballs with your hands and fry in vegetable oil.
3. Sauce: mix tomato paste with hot water. Fry the flour with butter, pour in the sauce, add salt and pepper. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and simmer in a frying pan under the lid.
Sprinkle with herbs when serving!
