Lesia Pavliuk, an elementary school teacher who won the national Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2024, shared the secrets of her superpower that she uses in teaching children. In particular, she has been encouraging students to write and illustrate books since the first grade.

The teacher spoke about this in an interview with Osvitoria. She shared that children write about fantastic and real-life characters and cope with this task as well as children's writers. In addition, students participate in elections and prepare their own election programs.

Yes, real conditions are created for them with two rounds and voting booths with curtains. According to Pavliuk, half of the students dream of becoming class leaders, and in this way, they get to know how elections are held in the adult world.

The teacher also introduces mental arithmetic, which improves children's understanding of math and develops their creativity. For example, one of her students entered the Ukrainian Book of Records by performing the largest number of simultaneous actions during oral counting.

In addition, the teacher and her children help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, the students made various goods with their own hands and sold them at the school fair. According to Pavliuk, such work trains entrepreneurship, provides a knowledge base about charity, and improves teamwork and financial literacy.
