Three best ways to use food waste are named
Don't rush to throw away food waste such as fruit peels or used tea bags. You'll be surprised but even they can be recycled.
Health expert Cory Rodriguez took to TikTok to share three simple ways you can use food waste at home and make something useful.
Lemon peel
Take lemon peels, throw them into a jar, add water (approximately 236 ml) and white vinegar (approximately 118 ml) and shake. Then strain and pour the liquid into a spray bottle. You now have an all-natural, completely homemade all-purpose cleaner.
Orange peel
You can do the same thing with orange peel. Put the leftover peel in a jar, add water (about 236 ml) and one tablespoon of witch hazel, a common natural skin toner and cleanser.
Leave at room temperature for 24 hours. Strain and pour the infused water into a spray bottle. This way you have a homemade all-natural air freshener.
Tea bags
When you are done drinking tea, save the tea bag. Then squeeze out the excess liquid and let it dry.
The dried tea bag can be "slipped into a smelly shoe" to absorb any "funky odor."
"For anyone trying out the first two recipes - a friendly reminder - use a funnel, because if you don't, you're going to have liquid all over the place. Save yourself the mess," the author concluded.
