The Ukrainian tennis player took out four Russian women and won a tournament in Georgia. Video
Ukraine's sixth seed Daria Snigur (WTA No. 125) won the ITF Lopota W50 tournament in Georgia. In the decisive match, the 22-year-old from Kyiv defeated seventh seed Kira Pavlova from Russia 6-1, 6-1.
On her way to the final, Snigur played four matches, three of which were against Russian players. Only in the match against Evelina Laskevich did Daria need two sets 6:2, 5:7, 6:2. In the rest of the matches against Daria Zelinska 7:6(2), 6:2 and Anastasia Zolotareva 7:6(2), 7:6(3), the Ukrainian took care of business in two sets.
In the quarterfinals, Snigur was stronger than American tennis player Katherine Harrison 6-1, 6-1.
This was Snigur's third final this year and second victory. In March, Daria lost the final at the ITF W75 tournament in Rzhychany, and in April she became the ITF W50 champion in Kalva.
This is our tennis player's tenth title on the ITF tour. Snigur earned $6094 in prize money and 50 ranking points for her victory in Lopot.
