Modern supercars deliver unprecedented power of 1,000 horsepower or more. But even some SUVs and family sedans are capable of developing similar performance, and electric vehicles have begun to demonstrate superpower as well.

Since the horsepower competition is not slowing down, Motor1 decided to compile a list of the most powerful production cars of the 2024 and 2025 model years. All of them are authorized to drive on public roads in the UK and are considered to be in factory specifications. Here are the ten most powerful in ascending order of horsepower under the hood.

SSC Tuatara

1,350 hp, 1,335 N-m

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

The SSC Tuatara broke its own speed record by reaching 475 km/h last May. The rare hypercar features a twin-turbocharged V-8 with a redline of 8,800 rpm, delivering 1,350 horsepower on 91 octane fuel or up to 1,750 horsepower on ethanol. Best of all, it is paired with a seven-speed manual transmission.

Koenigsegg CC850

1,385 hp, 1,383 N-m

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

This vintage-looking megacar squeezes a whopping 1,385 horsepower from its 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8. This gives the CC850 a power-to-weight ratio of one horsepower per kilogram. Even more surprisingly, the Koenigsegg has a manual transmission – the nine-speed transmission with multiple clutches can shift on its own, or you can switch it to manual mode, where the shift lever is closed and the clutch pedal behaves just like an old-school "handle".

Bugatti Tourbillon

1,775 hp

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

In the near future, Bugatti will move to all-electric powertrains thanks to the brand's recently concluded partnership with Croatian electric vehicle innovator Rimac. So think of the Tourbillon, with its hybrid powertrain built on an atmospheric V-16 engine, as a farewell party for internal combustion. The engine alone produces 986 horsepower. Add in two electric motors on the front axle and one driving the rear wheels, and you get a total of 1,775 horsepower. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.0 seconds, and the model's top speed is estimated at 445 km/h. However, the price of $4.6 million makes this model, to put it mildly, unattainable for most of us.

Rimac Nevera

1,813 hp, 2,360 N-m

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

Rimac clearly knows how to squeeze furious energy out of electric motors. The Nevera EV supercar boasts a total output of 1,813 horsepower, which is enough to reach 100 km/h in just 1.85 seconds. Nevera has broken many records, including the record for the fastest electric car with a top speed of 415 km/h. If you want to buy it, you will have to earn more than 2.2 million dollars.

Hennessey Venom F5

1 817 hp, 1 617 N-m

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

Actually, the Venom F5 coupes are already completely sold out. But if you have a few extra million dollars, you can still apply for the F5 Roadster or the new F5 Revolution with track-focused aerodynamics. In either version, you'll get a hypercar with a twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V-8 engine with 1,817 horsepower and 1,617 N-m of torque with a top speed of over 480 kilometers per hour.

Pininfarina B95

1,877 hp, 2,360 N-m

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

The Italian stable of Pininfarina produced only 10 copies of the B95 model. Its four-engine powerplant produces 1,877 hp and 2,360 N-m of torque, allowing it to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 2.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h. The price? A steep $4.8 million.

Pininfarina Battista

1 900 hp, 2 360 N-m

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

This sleek Italian counterpart to the Rimac Nevera has a little more power than its Croatian cousin, packing 1,900 horsepower and 2,360 N-m of torque thanks to four synchronous permanent magnet motors. Its top speed is 350 km/h.

Lotus Evija

1,972 hp, 1,700 N-m

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

The Lotus stable, now owned by the Chinese automotive giant Geely, focuses on high-performance electric vehicles, and the Evija supercar with almost 2,000 horsepower certainly meets these requirements. You can buy the model for 2.3 million dollars.

Aspark Owl

1,984 hp, 2,000 N-m

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

If you've never heard of the Aspark Owl, then meet it - it's a Japanese hypercar that debuted in production form in 2020. And you can still buy it today, but you need to have $3.1 million to spare. The all-electric hypercar has 1,984 horsepower and 2,000 N-m of torque, and it can accelerate to 100 km/h in a ridiculous 1.72 seconds.

Koenigsegg Gemera

2,300 hp, 2,750 N-m

The most powerful cars in the world: top 10 models

The Gemera is a four-seat supercar that combines Koenigsegg's 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 with a sophisticated electric transmission to produce a staggering 2,300 horsepower. The price of this beast is even scary to think about
