Tastier than pea soup: unusual potato soup with bacon and cheese for dinner
Soups can be made from any vegetables, cereals, meat, seafood, cheese, or bacon. For a bright taste, always add spices to soups, they will bring out even more flavor of vegetables.
The cook shared a recipe for a delicious potato soup with bacon and grated cheese on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- Bacon – 100 g
- Onion – 1 pc
- Celery stalk – 2 pcs
- Oil – 50 g
- Flour – 2 tbsp
- Milk – 250 ml
- Cream – 250 ml
- Broth or water – 1 liter
- Potatoes – 4-5 pcs
- Dried garlic – 1 tsp
- Paprika – 1 tsp
- Turmeric – 1 tsp
- Salt and pepper – to taste
- Cheddar cheese – 200 g
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the bacon into cubes. Fry in a saucepan until golden brown and remove.
2. Put the finely chopped onion and celery in a saucepan, add the oil, and fry for 7 minutes, then add the flour, mix thoroughly, and pour in the milk, cream, and broth (water).
3. Add all the spices and the potatoes cut into small cubes. Cook for 20 minutes until the potatoes are fully cooked.
4. Then add the bacon (reserve some for decoration) and add the grated cheese. Mix everything and cook for another 1 minute.
Serve the soup garnished with bacon and grated cheese. Add herbs and dried pepper if desired!
