Perfect borscht buns: an easy recipe for a successful dough
Buns are exactly the kind of pastry that is usually served with borscht. They emphasize its taste and saturate the body.
Food blogger Valentyna Kushch shared on Instagram how to make perfect borscht buns. The cook claims that their recipe is also easy to turn into a lean one.
Ingredients for the dough:
- Flour - 450 gr.
- Warm milk/water - 250 gr.
- Live yeast - 15 gr.
- Sugar - 30 gr.
- Salt - a pinch.
- Oil - 50 ml.
Ingredients for the sauce:
- Greens.
- Garlic - 5-6 cloves.
- Oil - 30 ml.
- Water - 30 ml.
Method of preparation:
1. Prepare the dough. Mix warm milk, sugar, yeast, and 100 grams of flour. Leave it for 15 minutes.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the dough and knead the dough. Set aside for 1 hour.
3. Form balls of equal size using a kitchen scale.
4. Put them in a baking dish covered with parchment or oiled, spaced apart. Leave for 30 minutes.
5. Brush with egg yolk (optional) and bake for 25 minutes at 180 degrees.
6. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce and grease the still hot buns with it.
