Buckwheat is a very budget-friendly cereal that cooks quickly. If you cook it properly, it's also great for lunch. You will get a full meal that will be enough for everyone.

The idea of cooking hearty buckwheat with meat for lunch was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Yana with the nickname yanni.cooking. You can serve it with a fresh vegetable salad or open canned food.

Ingredients:

  • meat - 400-500 g (I had veal, but pork is also great).
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • carrots - 2 pcs.
  • celery - 2 stalks.
  • champignons - 400-450 g.
  • buckwheat groats - 1 cup.
  • salt and pepper - to taste.
  • oil for frying.

Method of preparation:

1. Chop the onion, cut the carrots into thin slices, and slice the celery.

2. Fry in vegetable oil for 3-4 minutes.

3. Add the meat and mushrooms, cut into large pieces.

4. Stir, cover and simmer over low heat until the meat and mushrooms release their juices (about 20-25 minutes). Stir occasionally.

5. When the moisture has evaporated, add 2 cups of water and washed buckwheat.

6. Cover and leave everything on low heat for another 20-25 minutes. Each grain will absorb the flavors and juices, making the dish incredibly tasty.

7. After you have removed the buckwheat from the stove, let it brew under the lid for another 10 minutes.
